How to be a Morning Person


Over the past few years, I’ve realized that an individual can either be a morning person, or they are simply not a morning person. I consider myself a morning person, I actually always have been. At the end of the debate, life goes on and we simply MUST awake and get started with the day. Here are a few of my tips on either attempting to be a morning person, or trying to make your mornings more efficient.

Get a Good Night's Sleep
We all know how amazing this feels when you awake in the morning post a 6-8 hour sleep. It’s pretty obvious to us all that our body needs to rest in order to effectively function the following day. I recommend going to bed by 9:30pm - 10:30pm (for the latest) and waking up at 5:00am for the latest, of course life commitments doesn’t always permit us to do so, but you need to make time to have a great NIGHT sleep, and your body will thank you later.

A Soothing Wakeup Call
The sound of my alarm is actually prayers; this is what I love hearing to wake up. You need to find what works best for you and set your alarm sound to that. Trust me, you would be in a much better mood waking up to the sound of something you enjoy hearing rather than one of those annoying sound on your iPhone.

Brush your teeth and jump in the shower
This ritual is literally going to wake you up. A refreshing shower is going to have you feeling awake and ready for the day.  


Tea/Coffee with your breakfast
We’ve heard it a million times; ‘Breakfast is the most important meal of the day’ Have a good breakfast with some coffee/tea on the side to give your body that extra energy it needs.



Be aware of your World
As I am having my breakfast, I scroll through BBC to read news and I check the Foreign Exchange Rates to be up to date with current affairs. Answer all your emails, wish friends a birthday greetings etc.

And if you have done all of these tips and you still cannot come to terms with mornings, well darling, you may have to rely on makeup and clothes to fake it through the day until you feel awake ;) Put on some eye cream, extra mascara and perfume, no one will know you are secretly asleep.
